| A Guide To Giving Flowers |
Get Well When a friend, family member or employee becomes ill, injured or has surgery, an arrangement of lovely bright flowers in longer lasting varieties,is a welcome reminder that they are being thought of, as they recuperate. A nice plant is also great idea! You might consider waiting and sending directly to the home to make things easier, since flowers and gifts have to be taken home from the hospital. When sending to a hospital, a basket is the ideal container, it eliminates the danger of a glass vase being broken. As well as water being spilled and the arrangement being destroyed. We will however, do whatever you prefer. The flowers should be bright and easy care. Such as daisies, carnations, alstromeria, snapdragon, mums, etc. More delicate or exotic flowers have a much shorter life span and should be saved for other occasions. You can simply ask your florist to design something appropriate for your need, from their freshest available product. Your professional florist knows hospital and etiquette rules and will always make you look like a star! Business Client Flowers should be tailored to the specific business relationship. For example, a long time client with whom you have a closer relationship, might be sent what you know to be their favorite flowers, color or design style. While a new client might be sent an arrangement in a classic style, until you have time to learn more about them. Once again, you may rely on your professional florist to create an arrangement appropriate for you and the occasion. Funeral or Sympathy Family members prefer to send the larger and more costly Standing Easels. The next most popular funeral arrangement is a lovely Gathering Basket or the more traditional fan shaped Funeral or Slumber Basket. These options are not as costly as Easels, but are just as impressive. Frequently, plants are sent so that the immediate family members may take them home as a remembrance, after the service. Employers often choose to send a large Green Plant. However, when fresh flowers are desired a Slumber or Gathering Basket is selected. Of course, this doesn't mean that an employer can't send a Standing Easel in a classic style, it is the senders choice. Ask your florist to assist you in your selection, we are always happy to do so. When sending to a funeral home for visitation or for the service itself, timing is an important factor. Ordering your remembrance two days before the service, allows sufficient time for fresh flowers to be ordered and designed. The day of visitation you may still be able to get fresh flowers delivered, depending upon your florist workload. For last minute ordering, a large green plant is usually sent to insure your gifts timely arrival at the visitation or service. If you miss the visitation and funeral service, we suggest sending a nice plant, or fresh floral piece designed for and delivered to the home. Fresh fruit or gourmet baskets are other options for delivery to the home to express your condolence. Available in a variety of styles and price points, either is a lovely and a welcome remembrance. Our shop is known for the freshness of our Fruit Baskets. We never use pre-made fruit or food baskets. When an order is received we purchase the freshest fruit available from local sources for your gift. Business Promotion or New Job If office etiquette allows and plants may be displayed on desks, then a nice plant is appropriate. A beautiful fresh arrangement sized for the desk and using longer lasting flower varieties, may also be considered. A Balloon Bouquet would be great, from just one "Congratulations" Mylar attached to flowers, up to as many Mylar and Latex balloons as you wish made into a Balloon Bouquet. It just depends on how fun and informal your office atmosphere is. See our Balloon Pages for specific information and suggestions. New Baby Flowers and gifts may be sent to the hospital or to the home for the new arrival. We suggest using long lasting varieties, such as daisies, carnations and other flowers in the appropriate colors for a baby boy or baby girl. A Balloon Bouquet using "Congratulations", "Baby Girl or Baby Boy" mylars, attached to a cuddly bear or other plush would be perfect. A nice addition to decorate the nursery would be a "Personalized Baby Mum", wall or door decoration. Baby Gift Baskets, full of baby goodies and necessities are available in a variety of sizes and price points, some come in real little wagons. All nicely wrapped up in cellophane and a big bow, these make an impressive showing! As always we're happy to customize any gift idea you may have. |
